KSHO Care Guide
How to look after the crystals in your candle
We recommend removing the crystals before the first light or shift the crystals to ensure an even burn. Crystals can be washed and used as a healing tool everyday!
Caution: candle and contents may be hot
How to look after your candle
All of our candles are made of high quality beesoy wax, coupled with our premium wood wicks to ensure that your candle burns evenly and produces the beautiful fragrance of choice.
To ensure you make the most of your candle, we recommend lighting your candle at least 1 hour for the first time as this help the candle burn evenly and avoid tunnelling.
We use premium wood wicks so no trimming is required compared to normal cotton/fabric wicks.
Why is it important to cleanse your crystals?
Crystals help soothe the mind, body and soul. They act on an energetic level, sending natural vibrations out into the world.
When used for healing, these crystals are said to absorb or redirect the negativity you're working to release.
Regularly cleansing and recharging your stones is the only way to restore your crystal to its natural state. This act of care can also reinvigorate your own sense of purpose.
How to cleanse your crystals
1. Running water
Water is said to neutralise any negative energy stored inside the crystal and return it back to the earth. Whatever your water source, ensure that your crystal is completely submerged and pay dry when complete.
Approximate duration: 1 minute
Use this for: hard stones, such as quartz
Don't use this for: stones that are brittle or soft, such as anything ending in -ite
2. Sage
Sage is a sacred plant with a multitude of healing properties. Smudging your stone is said to clear inharmonious vibrations and restore its natural energy.
If you're unable to smudge outdoors, make sure you're near an open window. This will allow the smoke and negative energy to disperse.
When you're ready, ignite the tip of the sage with the flame. Transfer the sage to your non dominant hand and firmly grasp your crystal and move it through the smoke.
Allow the smoke to envelop the crystal for about 30 seconds. If it's been a while since your last cleansing (or you feel like the crystal is holding onto a lot), consider smudging for an additional 30 seconds.
Approximate duration: 30 to 60 seconds per crystal
Use this for: any crystal or stone
3. Natural Light
Set your crystal out before nightfall and plan to bring it in before 11am. This will allow your crystal to bathe in the light of both the moon and sun.
Prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may weather the crystal's surface, so make sure you return for it in the morning.
Approximate duration: 30 to 60 seconds per crystal
Don't use this for: vibrant crystals
